Investors and cryptocurrency fans have a lot of confusing insider words and phrases that you might want to familiarise with. A lot of these are used on a daily basis in posts on DeSo.
DIAMOND HANDS
Someone with diamond hands is considered to take the risk and stick to the investment whatever happens. Such investor will not sell a creator coin just to get a little gain once the price of the coin goes up nor will they sell when the coin suddenly drops in price.
PAPER HANDS
An investor who will sell their coin once it looses a little bit of its value or to gain a few bucks.
HODL
Hold on for dear life. Holding the coin even in times of strong volatility.
RUGGING / RUG PULL
Imagine sitting on a rug that suddenly gets pulled under you. On DeSo rugging is selling off coins by someone sitting at the very top of the investment pyramid. For example, if the owner of the account sells all his coins, he rug pulls and abandons all the investors who all lose a lot of investment because of this.
MOON / MOONING
When a coin starts to rise drastically like a rocket. This is where our adopted phrase “To the moon” comes from.
SHILLING
Promoting your coins and your account to get the price up.
PUMP AND DUMP
When someone tries to manipulate others by advertising an account he/she invested into (Pump), and then selling own coins (Dump) once others invest and the price goes up.
BULLISH AND BEARISH
The two types of investors. The Bullish investors believe that the coin will raise with time, while Bearish investors believe the opposite and think the coin will drop in value.
WHALE
Whales are investors with a LOT of money. Once a whale invests or sells someone’s creator coins, the price goes up or down significantly.
FOMO
Fear of missing out. Usually an impulsive act of buying a coin that may result in a loss.
